‘US policies destabilizing world’
Question: Now, as the Libyans mark the [third] anniversary [of their revolution], how far do you think the country has come in achieving the goals of its revolution?

Freeman: Well, they haven’t made any progress at all. Look, the country is a disaster. It’s ungovernable. And if we look back to three years, we’ve had a regime-change policy advocated by [US President Barack] Obama, which was illegal, and he should have been brought on impeachment charges and we went from there to [efforts for a] regime change in Syria and now we’re headed towards a regime change in Ukraine, which could bring us into confrontation with Russia.

So the whole policy has been a disaster for the world and a disaster for the Libyans themselves.

Q: Well, lawlessness is one of the concerns of Libyans right now. Many have said that by arming those revolutionaries Libya will spiral into endless chaos. How do you see Libya clawing itself out of this vicious cycle?

Freeman: Well look, the fact of the matter is that the state, doesn’t exist as a state. They have militias. Many of them al-Qaeda or directly al-Qaeda-related, and therefore as long as the al-Qaeda operation is supported by the United States, by Saudi Arabia, and this is not exposed and shut down, there is not going to be any progress in Libya. We saw that Libya became a transfer point for guns into the Syrian al-Qaeda, which are now still trying to overthrow Assad and we may in fact carry out a no-fly zone again in Syria in “humanitarian reasons” again, which could destroy and complicate the entire world situation in and out the Middle East.

Q: Before I let you go Mr. Freeman, there were concerns about different international corporations coming in and basically making use of the power vacuum in Libya and capitalizing the situation by taking over its oil fields and gaining lucrative oil contracts and that is happening on the ground right now. How conducive do you think that is to seeing a stable, independent Libya in the future?

Freeman: I don’t think there is going to be an independent stable Libya in the future.

I think that the Libyan regime-change policy has destabilized the entirety of North Africa from one end to the other and was a key first initial step in the series of these destabilizations around the world. Now we’re seeing in Syria and Ukraine with Russia. So I think we have to look at the fact that the world is in an extremely dangerous moment right now. We could go to general nuclear war is these forces do not pull back and therefore Libya was a starting point and there is no indication at all that the country is going to recover because that’s not the intention.
The policies of the Obama administration are destroying North Africa and the Middle East and may destroy the world, unless president Obama is impeached at the earliest moment.
