Government of Southern Sudan signs a contract with Saudi Arabia
Islam Times: The sources said that the Vice President of Southern Sudanese Government Dr. Riak Machar will, through his current Arab tour which includes Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, push for attracting Arab investment to the infant state. Sources told the «press« that Machar is to sign, with a senior official in Saudi Arabia during his current visit to the Kingdom, an agreement to build an oil refinery in the south for domestic consumption.

It confirmed that there is a strong Saudi Arabian investment desire in that area, and mentioned that Machar during his visit to Washington will discuss with U.S. State Department, White House officials along with the United Nations, the issue of the challenges facing the State of the South and the issues concerning the stability of the nascent state. Also indicated that Machar is likely to attend the Security Council meeting to be held Friday on Abyei, and pointed out that the man will end his tour on the fifteenth of the current month.

In the same context, an elite delegation of eight ministers from the Southern Sudanese Government arrived to Nairobi to participate in the South investment conference, organized by a number of European countries on Monday. The conference aims to attract investors to the South and to promote it, and sources confirmed that the delegation, which includes the ministers of agriculture and finance, are too travel from Nairobi to Cairo and Bahrain to discuss investment issues in the framework of attracting Arab capital to the infant state
