According to media sources, the man had doused himself in gasoline before setting himself on fire.

The fire was immediately extinguished by security staff and the man was taken to a nearby hospital.

The man’s identity has not yet been revealed and authorities are investigating the motive behind the incident.

This comes just two days after an unknown gunman opened fire at the prime minister’s office building.

The sound of three shots was heard outside the premier’s office, according to the Turkish state-run broadcaster TRT.

The incident happened shortly after Erdogan and his ministers began their weekly cabinet meeting.

On March 5, one person was injured after a percussion bomb exploded close to the offices of Erdogan.

Reports said explosives were planted in a car park just 30 meters from the prime minister’s building.
