A Petition filed against suspected role of an American agency in Pakistan

Islam Times: In his petition advocate Akram Raja said that the activities of the American organization are against Pakistan’s national interests.

According to the petitioner US AID plays a suspected role in Pakistan under the garb of financial assistance to the country. ‘‘The American Agency has its own specific interests which are against Pakistan’s sovereignty,’’ the petition said.

Registering the petition for proceeding, the Lahore High Court issued a notice to the Federal Government of Pakistan to explan the context of US AID’s presence in Pakistan.

Recently, another petitioner demanded through the court that the U.S. Envoy in Pakistan should be declared persona non grata (unacceptable) and should be expelled if the America did not officially apologize over violation of Pakistan's sovereignty
