Bahraini Minister of Justice plans to isolate Ibrahim Sharif from the secretariat of the Waad Association
Islam Times: Informed Bahraini sources revealed that the Bahraini Justice Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al-Khalifa plans to isolate the Secretary of the Waad Association Ibrahim Sharif from his post and choose a new person.

"Bahrain Mirror" website reported that the Justice Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al-Khalifa is the one that formulated the draft of the mentioned statement after a meeting with 5 members of the political office. The later were satisfied with the ratification of the statement with some minor corrections.

A source close to the atmosphere in the Association said that "both the Deputy Secretary-General Reda Al-Musawi and Vice Chairman of the Central Committee AbduAllah Janahi and Central Committee member Mahmoud Hafez were the “godfathers” of the idea to ratify the statement. They were also responsible for its promotion within the Association community”, that is within a set of concessions in the positions of the Association which will be expressed in stages in the next few weeks after the agreement with the Ministry of Justice.

A source revealed that "the compromise plan also includes the election of a new secretary general instead of the current Secretary-General Ibrahim Al-Sharif under the pretext of the latter's inability to resume his duties in leading the Association as a result of him being in prison, and that Mahmoud Hafez is a strong candidate to fill this seat." It was not possible for "Bahrain Mirror” to assure this information from multiple sources.

The source added that "The Central Committee Chairman Hamid Murad had shown reservations at first on the new positions of the association but he stopped and joined the names mentioned above."

The source continued saying that "The current chief editor of Al-Wasat newspaper Ubaidli Al-Ubaidli - who was brought about by the emergency law - played a role in convincing them of the need for changes in the positions of the Association, and that he advocates the process of opening lines of communication with the Authority, taking advantage of his relations, and the view of him as a "middle" man.

It was learned that the deliberations with the Minister of Justice also included the agreement on the release of Ibrahim Sharif, secretary of the Association, but after going on with his trial and after he is acquitted of the charges against him, especially working to overthrow the regime and calling for a Constitutional Republic.

Man wonder about the surprising transformations of the Waad Association on the contrary of its positions expressed through the 14th of February movement as a strong supporter of the people’s movements. The Association’s statement issued yesterday on the 18th June, (which described what happened as "inconsistent with the approach of peaceful political action" as a kind of "apologetic" language for each “Waad” activity and the activities of its Secretary-General Ibrahim Sharif, who is still languishing in prison) within the movement was a shock to observers.
