Western data against Iran N-energy program, rumor: Ex-IAEA expert

“I oppose strongly any kind of accusation on any state based on intelligence information. All the accusations given to the nuclear program in Iran is based only on intelligence information,” said Yasri Abu Shadi, also a member of Egypt’s Council for Foreign Affairs, in an interview on the sidelines of the 16th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
 
    “There is no single proof that Iran is deviating from its commitment from the Non-Proliferation Treaty. I am very surprised that the [UN] Security Council took four decisions, sanctions, against Iran just because of rumors that the intelligence sources may think there is something,” he added. 
 
 
The UN Security Council - under pressure from Washington - has imposed four rounds of sanctions against Iran.
 
The United States and the European Union have also adopted unilateral measures against the Islamic Republic in an effort to stop Iran's nuclear energy program.
 
Abu Shadi further added that almost all the states in the world respect the NAM except the “five [nuclear-] weapon states which they should actually reduce their weapons [and] the three or four states which did not sign the (Non-Proliferation Treaty) NPT including Israel.”
 
Israel is the only entity in the Middle East which has not signed the NPT and none of the countries which are accusing not only Iran but also Iraq, Libya and Syria even Egypt, did not consider any accusation to what Israel is doing, the Egyptian official argued.
 
Since Israel began building its Dimona plutonium- and uranium-processing facility in the Negev Desert in 1958, it is believed to have secretly manufactured hundreds of nuclear warheads, becoming the Middle East’s sole possessor of nuclear weapons.
 
Enjoying Washington's support, however, Tel Aviv has steadily refused to either declare the nuclear arsenal or join the NPT.
