Dozens of Terrorists Killed in Syrian Armed Forces Operation
Issuing a statement, the Arab country's defense ministry said that the operation was conducted in response to the attacks of armed terrorist groups on army positions and civilian areas.

Syrian armed forces destroyed the terrorists' headquarters and their positions along with their equipment in the suburbs of Deir ez-Zur and Palmyra in precise airstrikes, it added.

It added that during the airstrikes, the terrorists' headquarters were completely destroyed and dozens of terrorists were killed, including several ISIL terrorist members.

"Our armed forces also destroyed a number of terrorist drones in the outskirts of Aleppo and prevented them from achieving their goals."

Meanwhile, the Syrian defense ministry said its forces confronted terrorists during a terrorist attack on an army position in the Daraa region, leaving several terrorists killed and injured.

According to the 2017 agreement among Iran, Russia, and Turkey as the guarantor countries of the Astana Peace Talks, four safe zones were established in Syria.

Three regions came under the control of the Syrian army in 2018, but the fourth region, which includes Idlib province in northwestern Syria and small parts of Latakia, Hama, and Aleppo provinces, is still under the control of terrorist groups and adversary groups.

At the end of the summer of 2018, the leaders of Russia and Turkey reached an agreement in Sochi, Russia, during which Turkey promised to remove or disarm the terrorists based in this region without bloodshed.
